"Blue Wren" - Barry Porter At our DIG meeting on 6 December 2011, thirteen members presented photos of "Wildlife". Barry Porter captured this excellent "Blue Wren" image.

Ian Chesterfield facilitates our enthusiastic group of about 30 members who have varying degrees of expertise, and the aim is to share knowledge and experience in both the areas of creating digital images and editing them to produce an enhanced result. Members bring their questions and problems to share with the group and hopefully find a solution from shared experience.

We have had discussions on various technical aspects of digital imaging with members researching a topic and presenting findings to the group. There is a wealth of information out there and time spent can find it.

We rely on members to nominate items of interest for research and review, as this is a self help group.

In the group we have no two cameras the same and we all use a wide variety of imaging software from simple Microsoft Photo Editor to Jasc Paintshop Pro 8, with varying degrees of expertise.

"Now to consult the rules of composition before making a picture is a little like consulting the law of gravitation before going for a walk. Such rules and laws are deduced from the accomplished fact; they are the products of reflection..."
